Electric Cars
Exemption from Benefit In Kind for the driver, and accelerated capital allowance for the company were introduced in October 2017 budget. At the time there were limited electric cars – Tesla at the top end of the market, and the Nissan Leaf at the lower end. So the company can pay all costs of the car, and can also pay for a charging point to be installed at the drivers home, free of any cost to the employee.
However, since then, not a month goes by without a new electric car being launched.
The following are a sample:
- Nissan Leaf
- Hyundai Kona
- Volkswagen Golf
- Jaguar I Pace
- Audi E tron
Please note the car must be fully electric, not a Hybrid, so sorry to all those Toyota lovers.
A number of our clients have purchased electric cars and all are delighted with them.
