How We Supported
Hibernia
CLIENT'S CHALLENGE
Back in 2001, Hibernia was a young fast growing company in the IT sector. It had 15 employees including one very good book keeper/administrator. They had no in house accountant, only a large audit firm who prepared accounts at year end. Hibernia needed regular and timely management information to support its growth in a structured balanced manner. There was no requirement for a full time financial controller, and indeed the company could not justify the cost.
OUR SOLUTION
Colum Whelan, the principle of Guardian management Accounting, met with the directors and questioned them on what information they needed and when. He then recommended a solution by providing a fully qualified accountant on a number of days per month basis to deliver this service, while he personally fulfilled the role of part time financial controller and was responsible for the total finance function of the business. This arrangement lasted for many years, until eventually Hibernia required full time resources, and Guardian exited over a period.
“In our formative years, and before we required a full time bookkeeper we availed of the services offered by Colum Whelan and his team who provided a Financial Controller function to the company.
Colum always acted with the company’s interests at heart. Forever presenting potential opportunities and paths for further growth. You could say that Colum acted well outside his remit and was always enthusiastic to see the company prosper.
I have no hesitation in recommending Colum and by extension his team or indeed any of the services that he stands over.”Bob Murray , Managing Director
