As a not-for-profit organisation The Irish Advocacy Network (IAN) is completely reliant on funding from various bodies - primarily from the HSE. After a legacy of accounting shortcomings with other firms they were desperately in need of a financial accounting structure that would allow them to produce monthly accounts and provide clarity and accuracy.
The first thing Guardian did was to immediately install a state-of-the-art accounting package, as well as provide the organisation with a dedicated bookkeeper. Now IAN receives its accounts within 10 working days of each month end, and whenever the HSE asks to review their accounts they’re now always right up-to-date.
